Rote Ndao,Sulutnews.com – After holding a demonstration and blockading the road to the PT Bo’a Development area, residents of Bo’a Village, West Rote District, finally took the initiative to reopen the road access on Wednesday (November 12, 2025).
The plan to open the blockade began with a joint prayer led by the Chairperson of the GMIT Solavide Bo’a Congregation Assembly, Pastor Serly Taka, S.Th. Before the prayer, every resident who attended gave a vow as a form of forgiveness and a joint intention to maintain peace in their land.
Also present on the occasion, a Member of the Rote Ndao Regency DPRD, Mersianus Tite, who supported the community’s move to reopen the blockade and called for the importance of unity for the future of West Rote.
After the joint prayer, Mersianus Tite told reporters that he appreciated the community’s awareness to resolve the issue peacefully.
He emphasized that the people of West Rote are known as a community that lives in love and peace, and this moment is a reminder that it must be maintained.
“We must get rid of the thoughts that are developing on social media. Today the community shows love for their area by coming together, praying, and making peace. We must believe that God works in His way, and every problem that occurs is definitely to teach us something,” said Mersianus.
He also emphasized the importance of synergy between the community, the government, and investors so that development in West Rote runs well and provides real benefits to the community.
“Building an area is not only about infrastructure, but also about building hearts and faith. Investors, communities, and the government must be in one unit. If we support each other, West Rote will again wear the ‘dress of love’ that has been our identity since the beginning,” he continued.
Mersianus added that the plan to dismantle the remaining blockade will be carried out in stages and coordinated with the community. According to him, the approach taken must prioritize dialogue and understanding, not unilateral instructions.
“We don’t want to seem to come as politicians who order the community as they please. Everything must be discussed and agreed upon together. That way, there is no misunderstanding,” he concluded.
The move by the residents of Bo’a Village to open the road blockade is a positive signal that the spirit of togetherness and local wisdom is still strong in West Rote. In the midst of the dynamics of development and investment, the local community chooses the path of peace, an example that reinforces the image of Rote Ndao as an area that upholds love and brotherhood.
