Rote Ndao,Sulutnews.com – Hoax Case Suspect Mus Frans Handed Over to Prosecutors, Now Detained at Baa Prison
The legal process against the suspect in the alleged hoax case related to accusations of road access closure to the tourist area by PT Bo’a Development continues to unfold.
After undergoing examination at the Rote Ndao Police, the suspect Erasmus Frans Mandato, known as Mus Frans, was officially transferred to the Rote Ndao District Attorney’s Office to undergo the second phase (transfer of suspects and evidence) after the files were declared complete.
The suspect Mus Frans was handed over by the Rote Ndao Police investigators to the Prosecutor at the Rote Ndao Prosecutor’s Office on Monday, November 3, 2025.
After being received by the prosecutor’s office, Mus Frans was immediately detained at the Class III Baa Penitentiary (Lapas) as a detainee of the prosecutor’s office.
The Head of the Class III Penitentiary (Head of Lapas) Baa, Hariyadi N. Maikameng, when confirmed by the media, confirmed this. He said that his party had received the surrender of detainees on behalf of Erasmus Frans Mandato from the prosecutor’s office.
“Oh yes, it’s already there, it was counted 40 days ago,” said Hariyadi
Kalapas Haryadi explained that Mus Frans’ detention status is a prosecution stage detainee.
“Yes, our deposit detainee from the prosecutor’s office. Entering the prosecution stage,” he revealed.
With that, the legal process against Mus Frans is now entering the prosecution stage by the Public Prosecutor (JPU) of the Rote Ndao District Attorney’s Office.
Previously, Mus Frans was named a suspect by the Rote Ndao Police for allegedly spreading false information that caused unrest in the community regarding the issue of closing road access to tourist beaches by the developer PT Bo’a Development.
The Rote Ndao Police charged the suspect with Article 28 paragraph (3) jo Article 45A paragraph (3) of Law Number: 1 of 2024 concerning Electronic Information and Transactions (UU ITE).
Article 28 paragraph (3) of the ITE Law stipulates: Every Person intentionally disseminates Electronic Information and/or Electronic Documents that he knows contains false notifications that cause unrest in the community. Meanwhile, Article 45A paragraph (3) of the ITE Law stipulates a maximum imprisonment of 6 (six) years and/or a maximum fine of Rp 1,000,000,000.00 (one billion rupiah) for anyone who violates Article 28 paragraph (3).
